Two More Mark III On-Conveyor MAGNASAT Systems Ready for Shipping
Ultra-Dynamics Pty Ltd was recently awarded the contract to supply two On-Conveyor MAGNASAT systems to the JSC Lebedinsky GOK Iron Ore project which is located near the city of Gubkin in the region of Belgorod, Russia.
This project involves the supply of new crushing, conveying and stockyard equipment which will be delivered and erected by TAKRAF GmbH. The iron ore process material delivered from the mine is crushed and then conveyed to the ore receiving stations. On-Conveyor MAGNASAT systems will be installed on each of the 2 discharge conveyors prior to delivery to the processing plant. These discharge conveyors will have a capacity of 5,500 tph and will be 2,000mm wide.
The novel Field Coil design allows Measurement and Reference Coil pairs to be manufactured to suit any size of conventional conveyor belt including those of the large width required for the Lebedinsky project.

• Metallurgical Processing, eg copper, zinc etc
• Iron ore
• Steelworks

The system has been designed for installation on tonnage rated conveyor belts for the measurement of the metaliferrous content of crushed ore prior to processing. The system consists of an interrogation coil which is installed round the conveyor belt; a reference coil which is located adjacent to the interrogation coil and an Electronics Control Cabinet which houses all the electronic components. As the mineral content changes, these changes affect the electrical field of the measurement coil are is used to determine the metal content of the ore.
The mineral content can then be output to the plant PLC for process control functions. Once the system has been installed, it has to be calibrated, which is usually carried out using an automatic sampling system if this is available. If an automatic sampling system is not available then stop belt sampling can also be used to calibrate the system.
