Strong gold prices stimulate Australian production
Gold prices have increased strongly since 2021, with the uncertainty created by the Trump tariffs maintaining this increase. Most gold companies in Australia are highly profitable. The office of The Chief Economist expects Australian gold production – 10 million ounces in 2024 – to increase to over 13 million ounces by 2030.
